This tour allows you to view the nighttime scenery of industrial areas such as the Keihin Industrial Zone in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, from a boat.
Cruises that allow you to enjoy both the factory night view and the Minato Mirai night view simultaneously are generally operated year-round (mainly on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and during certain seasons).
Departure times are adjusted to coincide with sunset and vary by season, but are mainly between 18:15 and 19:30.
The factory illuminations that suddenly appear from the darkness are like a space station, and are very fantastical.
You can experience the world of Final Fantasy VII, a computer RPG released by Square (which became Square Enix Co., Ltd. in 2003 through the merger of the former Square and Enix). As someone who grew up with Final Fantasy, I’ve always been curious about this.

I heard that the chimneys spewing flames were incredibly impressive, but when I went, perhaps because it was very windy, or maybe due to the factory’s production process, I didn’t get to see much of it.

The Keihin Industrial Zone is a general term for the industrial area spanning from Ota Ward in Tokyo to Yokohama City in Kanagawa Prefecture, and the “Factory Night View Cruise” allows you to enjoy the lights of the factories in the Kawasaki part of the Keihin Industrial Zone!
Because factories line the canal, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the factory nightscape up close while cruising – it’s a classic Kawasaki factory night view tour! I’d love to go someday…

If you keep thinking, “I’ll go with someone,” or “I’ll go when I have a partner,” you’ll never actually go.

If you search for “Kanagawa factory night view cruise,” several results will come up, but I chose to participate in the “Guaranteed departure from 1 person! I boarded the ship that departed at 7:30 PM on a Friday in early June 2026.
I was walking around 5 PM, taking the 7:30 PM train from Elephant’s Trunk. They were selling same-day tickets in front of the departure reception area.
The wind was strong that day, and there was a possibility of rain, so there were few passengers on board.
It might be crowded on Saturdays and Sundays, so I recommend making a reservation online.

This time, I participated in the cruise on a windy day with a chance of rain…
（＾ω＾）It was great!
Besides me, there were other women who participated alone, as well as couples, and the night view of Yokohama was absolutely beautiful.
However, you should wear a life jacket for safety (they are available for free rental), and be aware that you might get wet on the second-floor deck, which is not covered by a roof, due to the strong winds.
(Raincoats were also available for rent.)
Also, since the tour moves at a fast pace to the night view spot, I felt that warm clothing would be necessary on cold days.
I imagine it would have been even more magical on a clear day, especially on a night with a full moon and starry skies.
