This park was developed along the old course of the Shakujii River.
I never thought of it as a park when I worked nearby.

It was my first time taking a leisurely stroll and I was soothed by the typically Japanese scenery, where history has been beautifully presented in a modern setting.
I hope it will continue to be preserved for future generations.

Highlights include the autumn leaves and cherry blossoms drooping over the stream, the waterwheel, and the arch bridge that crosses the park, and the park has been selected as one of the 100 best urban parks in Japan.
In summer, it’s filled with children playing in the water.
The flowing water is circulated through a filtration system.

There are many other places to explore in Oji, Kita-ku, Tokyo, so we recommend taking a leisurely stroll.
