In any case, it’s a popular spot.I don’t like crowds, but I’ve always wanted to go there someday as it offers one of the most spectacular views of Mt. Fuji.
It was around 10am and there were a lot of people in the parking lot and coming from the station. I think they were from all over the world.
There may not be many Japanese people(;^ω^)
The image of Mt. Fuji, the five-story pagoda, and cherry blossoms is famous, but I imagine it gets extremely crowded during cherry blossom season.
During the Cherry Blossom Festival, it seems to get very crowded around Shimoyoshida Station.(*In 2024, the event was held from March 30th to April 14th, but the dates may change slightly each year.)
It’s difficult to get to the park from Shimoyoshida Station, but I think it would be difficult for men to wear leather shoes and women to wear high heels inside the park.
I imagine it would be extremely difficult for elderly people or those with physical disabilities to reach the observation deck in the park.I gave up on the stairs that would have been straight ahead (the Sakuyahime Stairs, which have 398 steps「咲くや姫階段:Sakuyahime Kaidan」
) halfway through and took a detour to get to the observation deck.

AShinkurayama Sengen Park is a block park that was established in October 1959.
It is well-known and popular as a scenic spot from which you can see the majestic Mt. Fuji, the vermilion five-story pagoda, and cherry blossoms in full bloom.
It is located on the slopes of Mount Arakura and covers an area of approximately 4.3 hectares.
The Mikuni Daiichizan Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine is located there, and Arakurayama is a sacred area.。
The park has about 650 cherry trees (Somei Yoshino) and a memorial tower for the war dead.

Look at the image on the slider above,(;´・ω・)I thought it would be beautiful if the cherry blossoms were in bloom.
I introduced Arakurayama Sengen Park to those who are going to Japan in the future, those who want to go to Japan, and Japanese people who can’t easily go to Arakurayama Sengen Park, hoping to convey that atmosphere. However, I felt that I couldn’t justify my dislike of crowds.
I’m not sure if I’ll be able to go when the cherry blossoms are in bloom, but I’d like to add some photos if I go to Shinkurayama Sengen Park again.
Even though it is difficult for me as a Japanese person to get to Shinkurayama Sengen Park, I was surprised to see so many foreign visitors and was inspired by their initiative.
I’m thinking of going there again for a drive.
Thank you for watching.
