I didn’t know that the park is made up of four areas, from Park No. 1 (multi-purpose sports field, jogging course, aquatic flower garden, parking lot) to Park No. 4 (cherry blossom embankment, parking lot), and takes advantage of the unique waterside scenery of the Gongendo Dam and Gongendo Adjustment Pond (Gyoko Lake), which are popular cherry blossom viewing spots in Saitama Prefecture.
The one I know is park number 4 on the map above.
I went there with the intention of introducing it as a famous cherry blossom spot.

Satte Cherry Blossom Festival(幸手 桜まつり)
The 2025 Cherry Blossom Festival will be extendedMarch 26, 2025 (Wednesday) – April 9, 2025 (Wednesday) (Extended to April 13, 2025)。 I am posting this in the hope that it will be helpful for those who were unable to go this year or those who are planning to go next year or later.

The fee for regular cars is 1,000 yen per day, and for group buses it is 3,000 yen for two hours (2025 fiscal year).
埼玉県幸手権現堂公園(権現堂桜堤)の桜祭り期間中、駐車場は有料となります。
一般車の料金は1日1,000円、団体バスは2時間3,000円(2025年度)
It’s located in the northeastern part of Saitama Prefecture, so it’s fairly close to where I live, and it’s on the Nikko Kaido, one of the five main roads that starts from Edo Nihonbashi and leads to Nikko Toshogu Shrine, so I’ve been there many times before. However, I’ve always thought it gets incredibly crowded during cherry blossom season, so I’ve avoided it during that time.
This time, I passed by on a cloudy day after the rain and it was empty, so I took a walk, but I wanted to see it on a sunny day, so I went there on a sunny weekday.
On sunny days during the cherry blossom season, the surrounding area is quite crowded with cars and bus stops.

Looking at it again, I felt that there was a melancholy quality to it even on a cloudy day, and that the lack of people there added to its charm.(‘ω’)

The contrast between the blue and yellow rape blossoms and the cherry blossoms on a sunny day was stunning!(=゚ω゚)ノ
Even though I don’t like crowds, I’m glad I went.
The reason there are people among the yellow rape blossoms is because there is a set route to enter.
It is lit up at night during festivals, so I would like to go see it lit up next year or later.

this time,Cherry Blossom Festival(桜まつり)We’ve introduced the above, but Gongendo Park in Saitama Prefecture also has a lush, refreshing walking course that’s perfect for taking a break from your drive.
The rapeseed flowers will be removed after the Cherry Blossom Festival, which runs from March 26th to April 9th, 2025.

幸手市観光協会 パンフレット
Sunflower Festival
Event period:
August 2nd (Sat) – August 11th (Mon) 2025 (National Holiday)
*The period may change depending on the flowering situation.
Venue:
Gongendo No. 4 Park(幸手権現堂桜堤)
Admission fee: Free
I went on a weekday, August 7th, and it was very empty.
In 2025, the weather has been unstable since August, and it seems that the sunflowers are blooming later than usual.
In 2025, people were free to harvest sunflowers on August 10th and 11th.
*Only available on August 10th and 11th.
Caution:注意(ちゅうい=Chūi)
Touching the plants is prohibited.
This can sometimes be seen at cherry blossom viewing parties, where people pull branches close to take pictures of the flowers with children.
It is also forbidden to take it home.
Do not do this anywhere other than the toilet.
There are toilets within the park, so you should not enter the grass even in places where there are no people around.
others
Smoking is prohibited in Satte Gongendo Park. Please refrain from smoking.
There are bees and insects
If there are flowers, bees will come, and even if there are no flowers, there are wasps and other insects. Japan is rich in water, so there are many mosquitoes even outside of summer. There are also black flies (gnats and blackflies), so it is important to avoid them.
Even though Japan is safe, it is dangerous for women to walk alone in parks at night.
Japan has a low crime rate worldwide, but it is not zero. It is especially dangerous for women to walk alone at night, so please be careful. Self-preservation is important.
I plan to take a stroll there again if I’m in the area again.
Thank you for watching.
